Responsible for proposal evaluations, capital allocation and recommendations to CFO and CEO, on all major CBA Group investments:• Evaluation and recommendations for all CBA M&A (valuation, due diligence).• Built and managed process for strategic capital allocation to all CBA business, risk and finance teams (~$1.5bn p.a.).• Evaluation of all major IT, risk & new business projects, across the Group businesses (~70 project p.a.).• Built and managed the end-to-end processes for all major IT projects: evaluation-execution-review and remediation.Director of main CBA wealth management and insurance subsidiaries. Member of several Group steering committees (data, digital strategy, innovation, compliance etc). Also managed teams covering finance/risk/treasury data systems and the regulatory capital measurement and analysis (around 150 people). Covered much non-standard CFO work (e.g. major loan workouts and asset finance decisions).

Managing CBA’s equity and AT1 capital: strategy, deal management and execution (eg PERLS), broker distribution, buy-backs and management of CBA securities. Group regulatory capital strategy and the policy relationship with APRA.

Ran division responsible for supervision and regulation of investment banks, hedge funds and complex products (1yr contract). Innovative use of ASIC powers to identify fraudulent funds and prevent operation of questionable funds in Australia. Several frauds revealed and others prevented access to Australia.Review of financial risks in power industry, review of OTC derivative risks and policy (with RBA & APRA), post-GFC updates of securitisation and rating agency policies.

P&L responsibility for structured ECM & DCM transactions that optimised balance sheet, costs/returns, risk and regulatory outcomes. Mostly large cross border transactions, for international banks and large corporations (clients across EMEA & the Americas). Included M&A, bank capital and asset finance transactions.

Origination & execution of large scale structured asset and infrastructure financing transactions. Primarily for energy and transport sectors, across Australia, Europe & Asia.
