As a graduate from Conestoga College’s Bachelor of Applied Health Information Science (BAHIS) degree program, I developed a unique combination of knowledge and skills from information management, information technology and business management. I believe in innovation and progress through digitization while balancing secure and appropriate access to information. Having also earned my CIPP/C, I have a foundational understanding of broad global concepts of privacy and data protection; as well as a particular appreciation of Canadian information privacy laws, principles and best practices at the federal, provincial and territorial levels.In my current role, I am striving to ensure standard privacy practices and legislative obligations are being met at my organization. My role particularly focuses on reviewing, processing and responding to requests for information in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA). I focus on assisting members of the public in exercising their rights of access under MFIPPA.I am confident in my work ethic, adaptability, communication, and critical thinking skills. I am excited and determined to continue to grow and develop as a young professional and hope that I will be given opportunities to instill positive change and provide effective support for both customers and fellow colleagues.
