Michael Pertsinakis holds an LBB in Law from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, a PhD in Forensic Sciences from the Staffordshire University as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods from the same University. He works as a lawyer at Heraklion Bar Association and as a private forensic handwriting and document expert, working on cases from all Greece. From July 2013 he is a Senior Document Examiner at Chartoularios P.C. Laboratory of Questioned Document Examinaton Studies (associate member of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes). He is a professional member of the Charted Society of Forensic Sciences, member of the International Graphonomics Society and of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Following his academic endeavours, he holds the position of Lecturer of Criminology at MBS College of Crete and from January 2020 he is the Editor of the Journal of Forensic Document Examination. His main scientific interest lies mainly in the study of quantification of forensic data and his current research focuses on electronic signatures.
