- Determine technical aspects/test methodology.- Conduct and compile research, and test reports.- Compile and register policies, procedures, guidelines, specifications, and work instructions.- Investigate sound and cost effective technologies.- Test multi-vendor network devices for compliance with standards, integration, interoperability and scalability testing.- Negotiate specification with contractor / supplier.- Testing in the LABS i.e Cisco routers (MPLS, MP-BGP & IGPs, IP Services, VPNs, AAA, NAT, WCCP, Access-List, Encapsulation Methods, Tunnelling, IPV4&6), Switches (Spanning Tree, HSRP, VRRP, L2&3 QoS, 802.1, IPSec etc) for type approval on identified technologies and assisting with problem resolutions in the live network.- Type approval testing for Cisco router and switches and Huawei routers.- Identifying and testing new IOS’s for Cisco devices based on requirements per specific deployments.- Generating installation documents, upgrade procedure, roll back procedure and keeping network documents updated for all certified (approved) equipment to be used in the Telkom network.- Motivating and presenting the need to add newly type approved devices into the technology portfolio through the governance process.
