In my position as a multimedia designer, I was responsible for concept designing and developing (Flash/ActionScript + Socket/XML, and Java/J2EE) a virtual collaboration platform Glow for Joensuu Science Park and its supporting multimedia installations (ubiquitous computing). The project—with its touch-screen displays, RFID technology, directional loudspeakers, and real-time communication software—was ahead of its time, and received MindTrek Grand Prix Award in 2007.

I acted as a teaching assistant for "T-106.233 Basic Course in Programming 2", which is an advanced Java programming course. I was responsible for running weekly lab classes, instructing students with their programming exercises, and grading their works. In addition, I designed and implemented a database + graphical user interface exercise for 300+ students.

As a software consultant, I developed one of the first web applications for electronic invoicing and electronic document interchange in Finland. My responsibilities included both the front-end and back-end development of www.laskuhotelli.fi using technologies, such as HTML+CSS+JavaScript, Java/J2EE (Apache Struts and JavaServer Faces frameworks), and XML.

As a teaching assistant for the course "T-106.216 Basic Course in Programming Y1", I instructed students on a weekly basis with their Java programming exercises. Besides running lab classes, I prepared and graded students' programming exercises and project works.

At Woltti, I got my first opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge acquired from my Contents Production studies in a real-world environment. The company organized recreational events for corporate teams and my responsibility was to teach and help the teams in making short films in the course of the day. I also developed a new website for the company using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

I designed and implemented various software components in Java/J2EE for an enterprise information portal related to the maritime industry. Additionally, I realized the user interface and information exchange (XML) parts of those components.

The activities under my responsibilities were related to handling of consumer and enterprise contracts. This included opening and closing subscriptions as well as collaborating with DNA sales people. Moreover, I created work instructions and tools for new and existing employees in our team, and trained them on their job duties.

I was responsible for the further development of a Java/J2EE based web application in the domain of telecommunication systems. My work consisted of integrating the web application with a new database, whose schema I also designed.
