I love working in social settings but hate talking about myself, so here are five things you should absolutely know about me and my work. Quick and easy, right?1) I've helped scale and evolve supply networks for some of the largest companies you've never heard of, who support the most important areas of your life. Zygo, who make it so your phone's screen is so smooth you actually can't feel it. TLD, who make it so your airplane has AC while on a 120-degree tarmac. Forum, who make it so your surgery is minimally invasive and cuts down on your healing time. All supported from the shadows by a big nerd with a big heart.2) I'm a tech junkie and love gadgets. I'm paperless; not because of the environment (sorry!), but because it's so much easier to integrate all my devices and not have to worry about where I left that notepad.3) I got into my industry in an unusual way. I was a professional chef for years, until my dream became a nightmare. Growing up the son of a test audience for a quality management guru, I saw that cooking was manufacturing with shorter lead times and tastier FGs. The concepts are all the same, it's just different names. I made the jump to supply chain and fell in love with it somewhere along the way.4) I don't want there to be any surprises if we're working together, so the biggest thing you should know is I sometimes get so bogged down in the details of what I'm doing that I can lose sight of the big picture. I've gotten better at managing it, but sometimes I still need someone to sort of snap me back to attention.5) I'm shamelessly stealing this from someone I admire; I believe my biggest job is to make your job easier. I believe that values are what a company is willing to lose money over (and what a person is willing to lose their job over).
