Croydon, Surrey, Gb

After taking a career break of several months, I became a Project Manager within HM Land Registry (HMLR). I was responsible for the overall delivery of complex projects, ensuring their outputs were on time, on budget and of the required quality. I was accountable for delivering in line with Government best practice and HMLR’s project delivery standards/processes.Top achievements during time in role:- I led the delivery of the First Registration (FR) Scanning Solution project within HMLR’s Transformation Portfolio, where the objective was to trial and scale up a new digital-based solution to replace the traditional paper-based system of working. My personal highlights within this project include:1) Delivery of a successful trial in collaboration with the third-party supplier Xerox, which successfully proved the fundamental technical viability of the solution.2) Establishment of daily MI dashboards via control groups, to prove the associated business process efficiencies as detailed in the Business Case, in order to secure funding for the next phase of delivery.3) Scaling the adoption of the new digital-based system into the live business environment, reaching a daily output of 180 scanned applications per day.- I defined and implemented appropriately tailored project management governance systems into both the Operations Product and the 'Red’ teams, the latter of which was a cross-directorate group of senior SME's collaborating together on key initiatives at the request of the Executive Board (EXB). I provided leadership to SME stakeholders across the business, focusing on creating a positive and collaborative environment within the team, managing by exception, surfacing impediments quickly and reporting progress regularly. Infrastructure Delivery Manager

Ibm

Armonk, New York, Ny, Us

Following a TUPE agreement between the two organisations, I performed the role of Infrastructure Delivery Manager (IDM) within IBM on the Lloyds Banking Group account.During the two months, I completed my work on the final closedown activities for the New Data Centre (Horizon) programme that I had worked on since 2012 during my time at Lloyds.

Sep 2017 - Oct 2017

Infrastructure Delivery Manager

London, Uk, Gb

Following an internal promotion, I was responsible for managing & delivering critical workstreams on transformational IT programmes, and/or delivering large-scale standalone IT projects. I had overall accountability for the delivery of assigned technical IT solutions into Divisional IT projects to time, cost & quality with no impact on business as usual service.I performed two primary roles over three years on the £350m New Data Centre (Horizon) programme:- Firstly, I was the Networks workstream leader for the Windows systems migration wave, managing upwards of 25 work packages from the Design phase through to the end of Delivery.- I managed the Bank's contracted network supplier (British Telecom), to successfully deliver over 200 separate IT core network changes in support of migration activity with no unplanned business impact. These changes set the migration wave up for success with over 1500 virtual servers migrated to the target Data Centre (DC).- Secondly, I was the Remote Access Migration project manager, responsible for the delivery of a collection of 4 highly visible and inter-related work packages.- I led a team of internal and external resources in the delivery of 4 new platforms into the target DC, consisting of procuring and provisioning new IT infrastructure, testing and migration of Development, Third Party, Offshore and Internal Colleague remote access.- My project implemented new platforms which were fully secure, resilient across 2 distinct locations and could support 40,000 concurrent users (quadrupling existing capacity from the legacy system). At a time when Remote Access capabilities were becoming increasingly important to support the Bank’s Agile working agenda, successful delivery of these new platforms was a critical enabler.

Apr 2015 - Aug 2017

Infrastructure Project Manager

London, Uk, Gb

Managing & delivering sub-components of transformational IT projects, and/or delivering self-contained standard IT projects. Overall accountability for the delivery of technical IT solutions into Divisional IT projects to time, cost & quality with no impact on business as usual service.Top 5 achievements during time in role:- Delivered an upgraded Data Centre core network infrastructure, based on new-to-Bank Cisco technologies, in support of a £350m new Data Centre build programme.- Led a project to remediate 107 legacy firewalls that were out of support & potentially vulnerable to external attack. The project delivered to aggressive timescales, with no unplanned next business day service impact. As a result, Group Audit closed the High Risk Issues (HRIs) raised against the platform two months ahead of schedule.- Led the Vodafone Secure Remote Access (VSRA) rollout, delivering the new Lloyds strategic remote access client to over 16,000 laptops across the estate with no impact to service. I worked with the IT Helpdesk to provision a new Warranty helpline to manage forecasted increased volumes of user calls & developed a full communications strategy with Group Comms to publicise, educate & train the user community on the new product.- Led the Vodafone Private Broadband workstream through the planning & product trial phases into delivery. I set the project up for success by migrating the first 80 users onto the new service, managing initial service quality issues & developing a full communications strategy that was signed-off by IT Board.- Managed & successfully delivered phase 2 of the West Yorkshire Mid-range Rationalisation project, a key enabler for Integration. The objective was to release, relocate and re-provision the most challenging final 2 IBM pSeries frames from an existing Data Centre in order to meet business requirements in the target DC. I delivered 2 weeks ahead of schedule, realising cost savings of approx. £2-3m in pSeries infrastructure

Oct 2009 - Mar 2015

Project Implementation Coordinator

Managing and delivering components of large IT projects, and/or delivering self-contained small IT projects. My documented role was to provide support to the Project Manager - however on the majority of my assignments, I performed the PM role myself.Top 5 achievements during time in role:- Managed the successful weekend implementation of a major telephony change at a Head Office site to over 1400 users, receiving positive feedback from a group of senior managers and a formal Recognise award.- Co-ordinated the implementation of 120 WinXcel server migrations from Windows NT to Windows 2003 in order to improve performance and reliability of the service.- Managed the Group IT-led Media Encryption project involving Group Tax, Group Risk and Group Technology where I successfully delivered against tight deadlines to deliver a facility to allow the encryption of files before dispatch. This significantly reduced the risk of confidential data becoming lost and released into the public domain.- Participated in the investigation, organisation and delivery of IT requirements to provide "island networks" to a new supplier as part of a new print contract. This created the capability for the supplier's staff to operate from Bank premises – but using their own systems connected to their own data centre.- Led two workstreams on the £3.5m Virtualisation Programme, successfully delivering key network infrastructure dependencies and also renewing legacy hardware in the Retail Branch/Customer Service Centre estate to improve resiliency and reduce the number of service incidents.

This saved the loss of approximately £300k of Sunday production and mitigated the potential of further losses on Monday.

Sep 2004 - Aug 2006

Systems Test Engineer

Marlborough, Ma, Us

Product Quality Engineering - Systems Test phase. I built test networks, executed test scripts, recorded defects and performed regression testing.During the sandwich year of my degree course, I assumed the full-time role of Systems Test Engineer. My primary responsibilities were concerned with discovering and formally documenting any remaining flaws in the developed product(s) - typically network switches, routers, hubs and firewalls. The position involved constructing large test networks and testing to specification, which required a significant amount of problem solving and flexibility. I worked within strict deadlines, as part of a team that contained members from the United Kingdom and the United States. This meant that regular efficient, effective communication and close collaboration was necessary. I worked on several projects during my employment period that varied in size and scope and it was necessary to formally organise my time into a recorded plan, which also scheduled my secondary responsibilities: maintaining and upgrading the laboratory network infrastructure. Here I was involved in system backup, firewall management and antivirus control.
