Managed development for a venture funded software provider of web-based project collaboration and portfolio management solutions for the manufacturing and AEC markets. Worked with Product Management to develop requirements, specifications, and plans. Estimated effort, risk, and cost and implemented plans and schedules consistent with business objectives, and oversaw project execution. Drove project execution using a team-centered approach based on open communication and collaboration. Participated in specification and software design reviews, and conducted regular progress reviews to identify issues and areas of risk and implement mitigation plans. Communicated progress, risks, and relevant plan changes to senior staff and departmental directors. Continually sought out opportunities for improvement through new or improved processes, communications, technologies, systems, mentoring, etc.

Articulated vision, strategic objectives, product positioning, and product roadmap. Led product management team in proposing and defining new products and enhancements. Developed and implemented corporate product introduction process covering all phases from proposal through post-release product maintenance. Directly involved in concept development and specification of product modules that enable formalized gated project process execution, project resource planning, and project portfolio analysis. Worked on team developing company’s first commercial workgroup collaboration product. Responsible for CAD and Document Management integration. Conceived and developed product functionality to facilitate sharing project information with extended project teams using the Internet. This functionality became a critical factor in gaining additional company funding and was the genesis of current flagship product. Designed and developed real-time, coordinated multi-axis programmable motion controller products for industrial applications. In addition to closed loop motion, products included remote input logic processing capabilities and the ability to coordinate in real time with other networked motion and logic controllers. Developed expertise in electronic gearing, and position-lock and time-lock variable cam motion. Developed imbedded functionality to automatically detect and compensate for position error in packaging applications allowing as much as 10X improvement in program throughput. Redesigned family of feedback interface products for encoders, resolvers, and transducers. Assisted field staff on-site with complex motion applications requiring deep expertise.
