As grounds steward it is my responsibility for the university sports ground ensuring its maintenance as well as the safety of all players. The delivery of immediate medical attention and co-ordination of the next stages in further medical assistance is common practice in the role, as is acting as a representative of the University and grounds manager in dealing with the general public. This involves responding to queries and problems as well as aiding them with advice and information.

During my 10 months in the role, I was responsible for the safety and care of the children (8-11 years), organising and conducting coaching sessions and physical education lessons. I became competent at coaching a number of different sports as well as conversing with fellow teachers and students alike, this including disciplining and managing the pupils whilst maintaining the safe and efficient running of each session.

Due to frequent rotation within the pharmacy I became competent in all my duties as an assistant technical officer. Time spent in the dispensary assisting technicians and pharmacists through phone conversations with patients, drug companies, wholesalers and other healthcare professionals, within the hospital, as well as stock rotation was a large part of my dispensary duties. My duties in the pharmacy stores and goods receipt area of the hospital pharmacy involved responsibility for signing for and storage of drug deliveries, contacting wholesalers and drug distribution throughout the hospital. Most of my tenure was spent carrying out reception duties, this required me to screen patients before the pharmacist (asking for known drug allergies etc), reassure patients and make them comfortable in the outpatient waiting room as well as start the dispensing process by putting patients on the system. The main duty when being on reception was to facilitate the fastest and most accurate dispensing process through constant conversation with the patients and the pharmacy staff.
