Compete To Grow Coordinator
CurrentGENERAL SUMMARY: The mission of Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education is to create opportunity for under-resourced youth of the Greater Philadelphia Region to prosper in life. The intended impact is that participating youth will become Snider student-athletes with age-appropriate social-emotional strengths and skills to succeed and contribute as students, employees and community members. The Compete to Grow Coordinator will help Snider achieve its mission by ensuring that all students ages 10-14 play on competitive hockey teams, improve social emotional learning skills and prepare for high school through Snider programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the program experience for all 10-14 year-old students participating on Snider travel and in-house hockey teams, to successfully achieve age based outcomes. Build relationships with Snider Hockey League (SHL) Junior & Senior coaches at all rinks, checking in regularly to review quality of programs, providing support and feedback to coaches to ensure consistency in program delivery across facilities. Build relationships with 10U, 12U & 14U travel coaches, checking in regularly to review quality of programs, providing support and feedback to coaches to ensure consistency in program delivery across facilities. Work with the Life Skills and Academic Achievement Coordinators to ensure Compete to Grow Programs are designed for students to improve social emotional learning skills and become well-rounded academically as they prepare for High School. Improve and maintain Snider’s Compete to Grow Programs, reviewing on an annual basis to ensure high quality. Working within Snider’s Staff Training Program, lead efforts to ensure all rink staff are prepared to deliver Compete to Grow programs at all rinks at a high level.
