• In-Charge of all Operations & Maintenance for the entire Northern Region-II transmission system (covering J&K, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, UT Chandigarh & part of Delhi border area) from the Regional HQ.• Active participant in various activities; including: 1. Co-ordination with other Govt./ Private agencies associated with Power Transmission & Generation in the Region viz PDC, NHPC, JP, AD Hydro, PSEB, HPSEB, HVPNL etc.to drive operational improvement of the grid. 2. Handling Disaster Management of Transmission systems and SEBs3. Providing technical assistance to SEBs in maintaining Transmission & Distribution systems in the state.4. Starting RTAMC operations in the region; allowing all substations in the region to be controlled and operated remotely from a Regional Transmission Asset Management Centre in Jammu5. Representing Power Grid in various forums, including the OCC and NRPC.

• Managing the full-cycle of Sonepat (in Haryana) substation construction and operations.• Specific resposibilities included:1. Preliminary planning, including land acquisition2. Execution of Transmission Power Project (400/220 KV S/S and transmission system)3. Construction of 400/220 Kv Jind Substation , 765 Kv Bhiwani – Jaipur Transmission line and 400 KV D/C Bhiwani in Hisar4. Involvement with legal processes for construction disputes5. Full responsibility for administrative decisions, contract dealings and negotiations, , operations and maintenance activities, and financial matters

• Managed the full execution, operation, and maintenance of Transmission Power Project 400/220 KV S/S & LILO of Bhiwani-Bawana line at Bahadurgarh. • Decision-making authority on administrative functions, contract dealings and financial matters. • Assisted with various legal cases in High Court & Supreme Court, including construction disputes• Engaged in post-bid engineering activities for the transmission project in Northern Region II.• Attended management programmes arranged by Powergrid, in Trivandrum in 2003, and by IIM Lucknow in 2005.

• Responsible as Group Head for Transmission Line Engineering of Southern Regional Trans. System.• Specific responsibilities included:1. Approving design drawing and documentation, and conducing a feasibility study for the Talchar–II Mega Trans. System2. Preparation of project definition manual as a guideline followed for easy execution of Talcher Transmission Project for both 400 kv AC and + HVDC lines.3. Transmission line routing via satellite imagery with the National Informatic Centre4. Visiting Japan to test line materials5. Consulting on transmission lines for the Pondicherry Government.6. Attending management programmes with ASKI in Hyderabad, and IIM Kolkata.

• Preparation of bidding document and bid evaluation for Kayamkulam transmission System.• Preparation of technical specification and bid evaluation for Kaiga-Narendra, Neelmangalam-Mysore 400 KV tr. lines.• Coordination with CEA for Techno – economic clearance for Kayakulam and Kaiga- Narendra transmission System.• Deputation to China for conductor testing, and Quebec, Canada, as a representative for line material testing in 2000.

• Preparation of detailed networking of transmission lines all over India being possessed by Powergrid on formation of new PSU as NPTC initially(laten on known as POWERGRID).• Preparation of feasibility of Kayakulam and Ramagundam - III Trans. System and Preparation of bidding document.• Coordination with CEA for Techno – economic clearance• Training undertaken on Static VAR Compensation in ABB, Sweden • Preparation of technical specification bid evaluation.• Witnessing various tests on towers and transmission line material at CPRI, IISC laboratory.• Deputation to Bhutan for Preliminary route survey in respect of transmission system associated with new Hydel Project

• Extensive Transmission planning for projects like Ramagundam, Frakka, Corba, Kahalgaon, and Talchar STPP.• Coordination with CEA for Techno – economic clearance of various projects.

• Transmission planning for projects executed by NTPC i.e. Ramagundam, Frakka, Corba, Kahalgaon.• Record created convincing CEA that no transmission system was required for generating station Farakka-III as shown sufficient margin available in the existing transmission system.• Extensive use of EMTP for transient over voltage studies• Load flow & Over voltage, stability studies as required for transmission planning.• Reactive Compensation studies as required for 400 KV transmission lines associated with various projects executed by NTPC.• Preparation of Data Bank required for load flow and stability studies. • Attended Seminar on Series Compensation arranged by IIT, Kanpur.
