Step by step, I’ve been persistently working towards my goal of becoming a highly knowledgeable and well-rounded Electrician. As a 2nd Year Apprentice, I’ve been able to build a strong foundation of skills and knowledge through a variety of electrical projects, including high-end residential and commercial new builds, renovations, air-conditioning system installations, solar system installations and the manufacturing of switchboards. Being a mature-age Electrical Apprentice with a rich and diverse work history, I’m grateful to have been able to narrow down what aspects of work appeal to me most and that I’ve found a role that brings me a high level of satisfaction. My varied background has also allowed me to build and refine my skills in different environments. For example, at Hungry Jack’s, my dedication, positive attitude, and interpersonal skills led to a Team Leader position and, subsequently, an offer for a management role. It was here that I further enhanced my understanding and appreciation for health and safety, being a member of the Health and Safety Team. Throughout my time in manufacturing, my passion for growth persisted. My strong work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism earned me management positions in two companies. However, despite my enthusiasm for challenges and confidence in my abilities, I chose to decline these promotions as they did not align with my long-term career aspirations. As I look ahead, I am grounded in the belief that there is always something new to learn and room for improvement. My passion for advancing in the electrical industry is driven by deep curiosity, ambition, and a sense of wonder, and I am eager to embrace every opportunity to grow and advance.
