I headed-up Corporate Affairs at the British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA), primarily looking after two areas; Public Affairs and Digital Innovation. BIBA is the lead trade body for insurance brokers in the UK, with 1,800 firms as members, representing 1% of GDP.I have delivered notable achievements during what has been a challenging political environment, including delivering changes needed to terrorism insurance by playing an active role with Parliamentarians, Officials and Ministers in guiding the Counter Terrorism and Border Security Act. I significantly assisted the delivery of legislation to reduce fraud in motor insurance fraud and successfully lobbied for the Government to go further with penalties for using hand-held mobile devices behind the wheel.I successfully applied for a six-figure grant from Government to help with No-deal Brexit preparedness for the sector and launched a microsite, printed guide and Brexit roadshows across the country to help firms identify their exposures to a no-deal Brexit and provided guidance on steps to take. I am a regular visitor to Westminster, meeting Ministers, MPs, Peers and Officials to further policy positions the sector has.Straddling the areas of Government relations and technology, I also positively contributed to the drawing up the legal framework for autonomous vehicle use on UK roads as well as shaping how liability will work from an insurance standpoint.I was also responsible for establishing a cross-industry innovation working group to help identify and tackle issues stifling digital innovation within the insurance industry. Outputs include establishing a ‘dating agency’ for incumbents to collaborate with technology vendors, a programme of ‘digital upskill’ courses for brokers to increase their digital literacy and running a Hackathon at Europe’s largest insurance conference.I am a confident media spokesperson/presenter and regularly speak alone or on panels on a variety of topics.

I was brought in to deliver a positional paper on sustainable finance and to begin tracking EU regulation that may be on-shored during the transitional period, or may need an equivalent UK regulation after this period.

I wrote for Londonist for a number of years, mainly covering topics including politics, music and cycling.Understanding the audience and writing engaging content was crucial to this role, helping the site to achieve over 1 million unique users and three million impressions each month.A UK Press Card Authority holder via the National Union of Journalists, I have also had work published in the London Evening Standard, Metro, Daily Mail, Mail Online, Daily Express, Guardian Online, BBC Online, Huffington Post, Mirror Online, Streatham Guardian, Brixton Bugle.

During this post, I had primary responsibility for communications for the Employers Liability Tracing Office and Insurance Database Services Ltd – which manages the CUE and MIAFTR industry databases.I was responsible for media management on high profile claims to Motor Insurers' Bureau and also worked extensively on wider corporate media management – both proactive and reactive securing coverage on national TV and print on many occasions.I also helped support and deliver a public information campaign, centered on TV advertising and was supported with widespread coverage on national TV, radio and print media.

I co-presented/produced two separate weekend sports shows; The Olympic Show in the run up to and during the 2012 games, West London Derby football show. The role was expanded to fill-in slots for colleagues' shows whilst they were on leave with a more entertainment-based output.Most notable interviews I conducted during my time here include Liverpool players Ian Rush, Phil Neal and John Aldridge, Team GB Olympic Handball captain Bobby White; and the musicians Dirty Pretty Things, Dead 60s, Glasvegas, Silent Sleep, Tea Street Band, Mausi, Gaoler's Daughter, Losers, Melanie C and The Cooper Temple Clause.
