Responsibilities: Responsible for the financial management and reporting of the Middle East, Africa and India region for Svitzer Marine, which included 20 entities. Functional supervision of 7 Finance Managers - in the UAE, India, Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and South Africa to ensure reporting was maintained to a high class standard for all the regional operations. Including the Annual audit process, budgeting and cash flow management for the region. Achievements: Successfully managed the rollout of a new ERP system across the region to improve the management and accounting capabilities for all the companies. Implemented formal documentation to standardize the policies and procedures, and strengthen the control environment.

Based in Middlesbrough at the HQ of Svitzer Marine for the UK & Canada operations.Responsibilities: Principally responsible for maintaining the day to day integrity of the information in the finance system. Preparation of the monthly accounts, financial reporting for the UK and Canada region, preparation and review of the balance sheet schedules, including accruals, prepayments, and inter company reconciliations. Production of the management accounts for the NE region and coordination with the Port Managers. Preparation of the statutory accounts and audit process. Consolidation and submission of the regions budgets. Management of the $500m Fixed Asset Register.Achievements: Part of the Acquisition team which ensured the successful integration of the merger of Adsteam, which successfully combined the 2 largest Marine Towage Operators in the UK. Successfully doubling the shipping fleet and revenue in the UK Port Operations.

Responsibilities: Performing month end and year end tasks including the preparation of the balance sheet file, profit reconciliation and assisting with the reporting, budgeting, preparation of the statutory accounts. Additionally, assisting the Capital Analyst with the business and capital information pertaining to the significant portfolio of care home assets and operations across the UK. Achievements: I conducted a full review of the accounting processes and procedures and systematically developed an improved system using detailed knowledge of the available tools, (including excel) to considerably improve the efficiency and accuracy of the month end accounting function. My advanced excel capabilities were also utilized to formulate spreadsheets and improve the efficiency of the Head Office payroll department’s processes.
