About David Tikao
NZ born and bred, I moved to England in 1989, before returning to live and work in NZ in 2011. My previous employment has been in the banking and finance sectors in the City of London. Working for large corporates in the aggressive London marketplace has given me the foundation and grounding to take on the challenges of any number of industries.I completed a Master of Business Administration at Massey University N.Z., graduating in November 2015. I've shot a hole-in-one on the same hole of a golf course in Surrey, England, two days in a row. Whatever the odds are of that, sometimes you have to make your own luck.

In October 2019 Whai Rawa transitioned to a new Administration Provider relationship and started investing in a socially responsible fund while simultaneously moving the fund to a daily-unit-priced methodology for fund valuation and allocating investment income. In February 2020 the fund branched into new two new investment options adding a Balanced and Growth fund to complement the Conservative fund. Shortly afterwards a new online digital platform was made available to Whai Rawa members to greatly improve the user-experience for Ngāi Tahu whānau. The investment programme is an important distribution channel of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and aims to be the investment vehicle of choice to enrolled Ngāi Tahu whānau as well as assisting whānau to invest towards principle (medium to long-term) goals. I reported directly to the board of the fund manager, Whai Rawa Fund Limited, and to Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, the creator, and promoter of Whai Rawa.
