A member of the IT management team at Ladbrokes responsible for managing the Systems Operations team, Desktop Support team and the Database team. As a technical manager my main responsibilities would be to review and update processes and policies for the teams as well as providing technical and hands on support during major incidents. Working closely with third party development teams to provide technical guidance during development, testing and deployment. As a senior member of the team I would manage plan and coordinate the work schedule for the rest of the Dev Ops team to meet project deadlines. This would consists working closely with and supporting multiple development teams during the testing of both functional and performance as well as testing the deployment of software to the entire environment App/Web servers and databases. The Integration team consists of multi-skilled engineer’s DBA, Linux and Windows I would manage and assist in resolving application and infrastructure issues that would occur within environments. This could be anything from a simple configuration to a complete loss of data centre, and ensuring that all stakeholders are kept up to date with regular communications. Recently, I have been contracted as a consultant to Coca Cola Europe, to plan and implement their Production Stock Analysis System.I was also primary DBA for the Law Society and responsible for their Oracle production, development and test databases on both NT, UNIX (Sun Solaris) and AIX platforms. In addition, I provided support to World Duty Free (BAE Systems), CCE, Alstom Traincare, Coventry City Council, Cambridge City Council and the Go-Ahead Group.An essential part of our teams work has been Business Continuity and I have written procedures for the simulation of various Disaster Recovery scenarios, including the restoration of 50 plus Oracle databases on NT and UNIX platforms.
