Chiang Mai Artist in Residence (Chiang Mai AIR) is an artist in residence program in Chiang Mai, Thailand.Founded by a contemporary artist from Chiang Mai in 2016, the art space has been provided by a colleague from within the art community. A central focus of the project has been the creation of a social space in which creativity, sharing and contemporary art can co-exist.We believe that Chiang Mai is ripe with opportunity for international artists, and has great potential for those looking to develop creative arts in any one of a number of forms. Chiang Mai is a city home to a wealth of cultural traditions and artistic resources. We would like to offer our full support for artists who have a personal interest in the local area, drawing on our expertise in management, authentic hospitality and ethical sustainability.Chiang Mai Artist in Residence is a space for creativity, research, and development, and embarking on projects from ideas in creative work. SAC Residency Program is established for supporting artists and curators. The program takes place in Chiang Mai, north of Thailand. Here, artists may benefit from the unique art and design community as well as the vibrant creativity all over the city.Responsibilities - Provide curatorial support and collaboration for loan- and collection-based exhibitions.- Periodically conceive, organize, implement loan- and collection-based exhibitions as lead curator, working with colleagues across departments on preparing checklists, securing loans, generating floorplans and interpretive materials, maintaining budget, and collaborating with colleagues on securing exhibition tours.- Periodically serve as coordinating curator for exhibitions borrowed by the S.A.C Art Lab Program from other institutions, collaborating with outside curators and S.A.C staff to develop additional programming as required.- Generate exhibition and collections-related interpretive materials, working closely with Design/Editorial department and department of Public Engagement, Learning, and Impact.- Support curatorial work on exhibition publications, with periodic responsibility for generating catalogues or catalogue content. - Generate content for the S.A.C’s online publishing platforms.- Liaise with other programming departments, including Moving Image, Performing Arts, Design, and Public Engagement, Learning, and Impact to develop cross-disciplinary projects and residencies.- Lead tours for the general public and donors, and participate in/lead Educator training sessions as required.- Foster and maintain good communications and working relationships with local/national/international artists, donors, and collectors.- Participate in regular engagement with Chiang Mai arts organizations and community partners.

My duties included coordinating with artists and gallery staff to ensure the smooth running of the space, managing administrative tasks such as record-keeping and document management, and providing assistance during events and exhibitions.I was also responsible for managing the gallery's facilities, which involved keeping the space clean and organized, helping with the physical installation of exhibits, and operating audio-visual equipment. In addition, I played a key role in promoting the gallery's current and upcoming exhibits to visitors, answering questions, and providing information about the artists and their works.Throughout my time as a Gallery Assistant, I developed a strong understanding of the art scene and gained valuable experience in customer service, event coordination, and facilities management. After graduating from university, I joined 1207 DESIGN STUDIO, a production house that served various clients, but primarily universities. During my time there, I worked on a variety of tasks, including graphic design, scriptwriting for short TV programs, hosting travel shows, coordinating shooting, and even some website design.
