For 11 years I played a key role in running the market-leading Sunday Times business section.I also undertook a series of projects that brought in new revenues. These began in 2014 with a 50th anniversary celebration of the section through a history of British business since 1964 in a 72-page advertising-backed magazine, along with a debate in London featuring business leaders such as Dame Carolyn McCall and Sir Martin Sorrell, and an evening at Manchester Business School dedicated to the entrepreneurs Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Peter Hargreaves.In 2015 I created The Start-up List, an 84-page magazine on entrepreneurship, supported by Vodafone. In 2017 I created the tabloid supplement The MBA List, a guide to UK courses that was supported by advertising. It was published again in 2018 and 2019.From 2017 I oversaw the annual Maserati 100 list of innovative entrepreneurs, editing the list and organising an event celebrating the entrepreneurs. In February 2020 I created another supplement, Best Places for Business - a guide to fast-growing cities, supported by KPMG, which followed four regional summits I helped to run (and took part in).I also played a key role in running the Non-Executive Director Awards for a decade.I built a network of contacts among business leaders and successful entrepreneurs. I made the annual Sunday Times business party into the highlight of the winter party season, attended by FTSE chairmen, chairwomen and chief executives, as well as leading entrepreneurs. Besides writing occasional features, I have interviewed top chief executives and written the Prufrock gossip column. And I introduced a monthly bestselling business books list. In addition, I regularly worked as night editor, overseeing the paper after the first edition until 2am.
