I joined in 2013 as one of its early employees and helped build the podcast industry and led and managed a fast growing bootstrapped company from its early startup days through its acquisition in 2015 and for 2 years post-acquisition. During my tenure, the company's saw 100x revenue growth, 8x headcount growth, expansion to 3 new offices, and a subscription business product launch. My primary areas of focus were managing all financial aspects of the company (budget, cash flow, forecasting, financial reporting), talent and contract negotiations, managing business risk, and leading the legal, human resources, and ancillary revenue efforts. Midroll Media is the parent company of Earwolf, Howl.fm, Midroll and Stitcher and a leader in the podcasting industry.Earwolf creates and produces incredible original audio content. Our podcasts are downloaded millions of times per month and include top comedy podcasts like "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend", "Comedy Bang Bang" and "How Did This Get Made" amongst other critically acclaimed shows like "Katie Couric", "The Dream", and "Stranglers". Midroll Media owns the leading podcast sponsorship network, Midroll and works exclusively with more than 300 of the world's top podcasts, including "WTF with Marc Maron", "The Bill Simmons Podcast" and The Ringer's podcast network, "My Favorite Murder", "Freakonomics", "StarTalk with Neil DeGrasse Tyson", and "Marketplace" to help them monetize and distribute their content.In 2015 Midroll launched Howl.fm, now known as Stitcher Premium, the podcast industry’s first premium subscription service, dubbed the “Netflix for podcasting” by Fast Company.In July of 2015, Stitcher / Midroll Media was acquired by the EW Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP) in 2015 and SiriusXM in 2020 (NASDAQ: SIRI).

Acquired by Sporting News• Prediculous produced reality-based social gaming solutions for entertainment and advertising purposes with blue-chip clients like Allstate, Subway, UPS, Burger King, and Viacom. • Founded company and successfully led fundraising efforts for the company’s seed round.• Responsible for developing and overseeing all finance and accounting of the company including: fundraising, financial reporting and projections, project pricing, employee payroll, tax preparation, & cash flow management. • Led development of game concept and mechanics, user experience, content creation, customer service and co-led business development including presentations to MTV, BET, Bleacher Report, and Sporting News.• Oversaw legal aspects of the company including customer and vendor contract negotiations, formation of the company and operating agreement, human resources materials, website privacy policy and terms of service.• Managed product for several titles and coordinated with contractors, clients, and the company's team to ensure a successful and on-time product launch within very tight deadlines.• Company was selected and participated in Techstars Boulder 2013 summer class.• Company acquired by Sporting News 2013.

NYSE: SPXC & NYSE: FLOW- reduced monthly close from 28 days to 4 days • Trained and developed staff at four European locations on reporting requirements, US GAAP, cost based accounting, and SPX specific accounting policies and financial systems.• Performed various purchase accounting activities• Led effort to integrate existing Gerstenberg Schroder’s worldwide treasury and cash management functions.• Created various financial models to assist staff with calculating accounting accruals and deferrals under US GAAP requirements

• Planned, led, and executed domestic and international financial, compliance, consulting, and special investigation audits within SPX Corporation’s portfolio of businesses. • Responsible for assessing areas of financial risks, coordinating logistics and communications, creating audit scope, managing document flow, assigning audit responsibilities, reviewing staff and manager work, quantifying potential financial misstatements, recommending best accounting practices to businesses, and developing audit staff.• Authored accounting memoranda, audit methodology documents, and audit reports.• Performed review of SPX’s global treasury operations including identifying areas of improvement.

Within my time in the Finance and Accounting Rotational Program I experienced four different rotations. The rotations exposed me to SEC (external financial) reporting, FP&A, budgeting, cost accounting, tax issues, auditing, SOX testing, business writing for various accounting memoranda, and project management. Below is a description of my responsibilities during the program:Financial Planning & Analysis• Preparation of monthly and quarterly presentations to Segment and Corporate management and worked on the development of the food processing equipment division budget.• Performed quantitative and qualitative data analysis for the segment and corporate teams for actual and forecasted earnings, balance sheets, statements of cash flow, order, sales, and backlog data. • Authored accounting memoranda on accounting treatments for ERP implementation costs, the financial impact on foreign exchange translation, and the impacts on the company's financials of FAS 123(R) and SAB 108.• Assisted with the preparation and development of monthly and quarterly business outlook including monthly presentations to senior management.Financial Reporting & Budgeting• Conducted Balance Sheet reviews to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SPX accounting policies and performed SOX compliance testing. • Performed data analysis, tracked PBC items due to external auditors, updated changes to Forms 10-Q and 10-K, and prepared and documented footnote disclosures.• Proofread drafts of Forms 10-Q and 10-K for writing, grammatical, and calculation errors.• Developed, updated, and distributed monthly report to senior management tracking segment expenditures.• Assisted with the preparation and development of the Sanitary Division's 2008 budget and annual forecast.
