• Duties performed: Design and conduct research as an independent investigator in the area of transdermal drug delivery, formulation development, stability of products compounded in community pharmacies and analysis. Duties also include teaching students of the Doctor of Pharmacy program in both classroom and compounding laboratory. Administrative duties included helping in admission interviews and serving in various medical and healthcare activities for medically underserved people (such as checking blood glucose, blood pressure, medicine counseling etc.). • Duties performed: Served as Teaching Assistant for the following courses: o Drug Delivery System Laboratory: Spring semesters of the year 2009, 2010 and 2011. o Biochemistry Course: Fall semesters of the year 2011 and 2012. o Pharmaceutical Case Studies: Clinical and biomedical cases- Spring semester of the year 2013 • Narrative: The Teaching Assistant (TA) position was a mandatory title assigned to each graduate student. The Pharm.D. students were provided with various clinical cases and problems which they needed to analyze based on their knowledge learned during the program. As the TA, my responsibility was primarily to moderate their sessions of active learning and discussion, debate and presentation of professional knowledge. This also included proctoring in their assessments as well as grading.

• Duties performed: Performed extensive work with the endopeptidase neurolysin (EC 3.4.24.16), and my works are divided to three sub-projects: o In vitro demonstration that the upregulation of neurolysin (Nln) is associated with neuronal cell death.o Study of this upregulation in a stroke model (Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion, MCAO) of mouse. Study of the enzymatic functionality is included in this project.o Understanding the mechanism of upregulation of this enzyme in primary cortical neurons. • Narrative: Performing essential scientific experimentations for the research involving neuron and brain cells. Tools and techniques included Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion surgery in rodent model, Brain fixing and cryosectioning for immunohistological studies, Assessment of neuronal death as well as reactive oxygen species with the help of Fluoro Jade staining and dihydroethidium staining, Primary brain cultures (neuronal, astroglial and capillary endothelial), Cell-viability assays, Radioligand receptor binding assays (whole cell and membrane preparations), Western blot technique, Enzymatic assays with crude and purified neuronal membrane, Preparation of neuronal membrane with the help of biotin-tagged magnetic beads method, Laser Doppler flowmetry, Supravital staining of brain slices (TTC) and Behavioral models to test the sensorimotor function in mice. Using scientific journals, databases and other resources to build novel experimental design. Analyzing the obtained research data with the help of various statistical analysis tools and using in writing of the manuscripts. Preparing complete manuscript and sending to journal editors for publishing. Other responsibilities included attending various scientific conferences to learn about the research activities in other programs and sharpening the professional skill. As a part of the doctoral program, it was mandatory to attend various course works in first two years and maintain a decent grade point.
