About Matt Ray
Experienced IT Professional and Freelance Writer for Fortune 500 Companies, working in the CyberSecurity, Cloud Consulting & Freelance Writing Spaces. Certificates in HITRUST, Azure, CEH and Security+.I worked for a Fortune 500 Company for 15 years and owned an IT consulting business for many years after that. In 2016 I decided to take a break from Consulting and sail around the world. I obtained an RYA YachtMaster Offshore Certificate and proceeded to complete a circumnavigation by crewing on other people's boats, or what I call, Global Hitchhiking. It was the adventure of a lifetime, visiting 40+ countries, and experiencing the slow-travel lifestyle found only on a sailboat. I enjoyed pursuing my dreams and meeting amazing people along the way.In 2019 it was time to get back to work. I did Security Consulting for a couple of years after obtaining a Security+ Certificate and in 2021 finished a master's degree in Cybersecurity. I'm currently working as the Team Lead to a group of SOC Analysts at MindPointGroup. I’m also a freelance writer and photographer and have written about my adventures around the world as well as some of my technical adventures. Below are some of the photos taken in my travels and in the Accomplishments, section are links to some of the technical documents I have written.
