Mark Beebe, AIA began his architecture career working with Elizabeth Wright Ingraham, FAIA. Being a smaller firm, Mark learned that running an architecture practice requires wearing a lot of hats. In addition to this, as Elizabeth was the granddaughter of Frank Lloyd Wright, and instructed by Mies van der Rohe, she had a very unique approach to design. This approach has influenced Mark’s sensitivities to material and form from the very beginning, and continues to influence him today.After his tenure with Elizabeth Wright Ingraham, FAIA, Mark worked in London England for a large, multi-national design firm that had a knack for winning design competitions. This period working for Farrell and Partners helped Mark develop new perspectives and explore contemporary forms and human scale within historic, urban environments. Finally, Mark has spent the last 23+ years of his career in several Indianapolis firms where he has been given the ability to lead the design process on education and community-based projects. In 2011 Mark launched his own architectural firm (LANCER + BEEBE, LLC) which focused on education design as well as community-based urban redevelopment and mixed-use, which Mark serving as Design Principal on all major design projects. This firm experienced significant growth and high-design opportunities and within 10 years ranked among the premier firms of Indianapolis for educational design excellence, and 9th in highest-grossing architecture firms in central Indiana. Worthy of note, the 8 firms ahead of Mark's practice averaged over 25 years in business. Fast forward to the fall of 2022, Mark launched BEEBE Design, with an enhanced focus on educational design innovation across Indiana and the Midwest. Already the firm's work is gaining recognition for disrupting status-quo within educational facility design and making bold moves for higher learner engagement and achievement.February of 2023, details of a strategic merger were completed between BEEBE Design and RATIO Architects. Beebe’s design practice, including full design portfolio, and team of architects and interior designers are now merged with RATIO where Mark Beebe will take on the role of Partner and Midwest PK-12 Director. This merger enables Beebe to strategically leverage RATIO’s 40 years of expertise, 200+ employees, and national reach in order to bring enhanced offerings to Beebe’s education clients. Ever focusing on PK-12 education design, Beebe and his team will continue to bring the highest levels of service and innovation to their work, now on a more expansive level.
