With over 14 years of experience in leading, managing, and growing a social impact venture, I am the co-founder and executive director of We Lead Ours, a nonprofit organization that provides school and community based enrichment programs for youth in Oakland and surrounding areas. My mission is to nurture life skills that focus on career exploration, civic leadership, college preparation, and health and wellness, using hands-on learning experiences and mentoring.I also leverage my skills and knowledge in workshop facilitation, social networking, marketing communications, and small business development to create and sustain partnerships, recruit and train staff and volunteers, secure funding and resources, and increase the visibility and reach of We Lead Ours. In addition, I am involved in various civic and political initiatives, such as Time 2 Dig Deep Podcast, 1865 Collective, BART Title VI and Environmental Justice Advisory Committee, and Oakland Sugar Tax Advisory Commission. I have received multiple awards and recognitions for my work and service, such as the Golden State Warriors Community Playmaker Award, the City of Oakland Inspirational Leadership Award, and the Oakland Athletics Community Champion Award. I hold a BS in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana, an MBA in Business Administration and Management from University of Phoenix, and I am currently pursuing an EdD in Leadership Development from University of Phoenix.
