I always thought I managed homes, units, and apartments...I don't...On reflection I realise I do so much more... I manage people.Landlords, Owners, Tenants, "Tradies", Insurance Professionals, Strata Managers...the list of key stakeholders goes on...and I DO IT WELL. My ability to relate effectively with a broad range of people begins with a journey working in supermarkets, stacking shelves and mopping spills in aisle 5. Progressing to the role of Grocery Manager was the next step in my career as I managed a team of people, inspiring them to excel in their roles. Seeking further growth I transitioned into the supplier side as a Territory Manager, networking with the very stores I once worked in (minus the mopping). I always enjoyed engaging with the customers of the supermarket. Working the supplier side allowed me to focus on the job at hand (significantly increasing sales for Arnotts, Nestle and Goodman Fielder). Utilising my well developed communication skills I conveyed my goals in "laymans terms" to the right people - either the Store Manager or the Purchasing Manager. Further building my knowledge I completed a Marketing Degree because people intrigued me with their purchasing decisions. I pursued a role in retail banking where I was able to utilise the latest customer relationship software to maximise the benefit of both parties, the bank and the customer. I travelled the world for a year... returning to work in retail travel and progressing to corporate travel. With each move I have been able to build upon my previous professional experiences in working with people and adapting to many different software packages required for each diverse role. Sure the context changes but the underlying facet is people.So now, I'm in Property Management and I get to house people... I get to maintain people's investments (with my keyboard and phone!). I get to break things down into "laymans terms" so that everyone understands and... ultimately, I get to enjoy the process. Now my colleagues turn to me for mentoring, explanation, instruction, advice and support.I am highly committed to continuing to develop a challenging and rewarding career.Watch this space...
