I am Darnell Dixon, a proud graduate of Virginia State University and an experienced electrical engineer with over 15 years of professional experience. I'm also an advocate for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), I am deeply committed to promoting these fields, particularly among underrepresented communities. I firmly believe that diversity in STEM is essential for fostering innovation and ensuring that all voices are heard in the scientific dialogue. My advocacy extends to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), where I actively support initiatives aimed at increasing enrollment and retention of students in engineering disciplines. I understand the unique challenges that many students face, and I strive to provide them with the resources and encouragement they need to succeed.In addition to my professional commitments, I am also a dedicated STEM volunteer. I enjoy working with local schools and organizations to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists. This outreach is not just about teaching; it is about connecting with young minds, sparking their interest in STEM, and showing them that their aspirations are attainable.I am proud to be a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., which has instilled in me the values of achievement, leadership, and community service. My involvement with the fraternity allows me to further extend my outreach efforts, as we work collectively to uplift our communities and empower youth through various programs and initiatives.In summary, my journey as an electrical engineer has been both fulfilling and impactful.
