The SXSW EDU Mentor program facilitates purpose-driven, one-on-one connections between experienced professionals and solution-seeking attendees.

- Provided Legislative Director services, including legislative lobbying, participation in client meetings, tracking legislation, and monitoring committee meetings for client opportunities- Served as a liaison to the Texas Legislature,  State Board of Education, Texas Education Agency, and other relevant bodies, communicating client priorities and providing political intelligence

- Provided support as Chief of Staff to Rex Gore, member of the State Board for Educator Certification- Advised on legislative and regulatory policy related to educator preparation programs, including quality standards, teacher preparation curriculum, clinical experiences, teacher residency programs, teacher certification, and teacher standards of conduct

- Oversaw operations as Chief of Staff to Rex Gore, Chairman of the Texas Commission on Virtual Education, established by the 87th Texas Legislature- Chairman Gore was named Policymaker of the Year by the Texas Digital Learning Association for his work leading the Commission- Advised on the development of legislative and regulatory policy recommendations for the delivery and funding of virtual education in the Texas public school system that were unanimously passed by the bipartisan commission members- Worked with a bipartisan commission of 13 members appointed by the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, and State Board of Education- Designed the commission's monthly hearings to review the past and current context of virtual education in Texas and to explore virtual education nationwide

- Directed state policy strategy for the organization's largest region- Led and managed the Texas Policy Fellowship of 66 Fellows (current classroom teachers) and grew a grassroots teacher advocacy network- Trained and supported teachers as they conducted advocacy efforts to enact policy change, including writing op-eds, meeting with policymakers, testifying, and participating in community organizing efforts at the state and local level- Built partnerships and relationships in order to amplify teacher voice and created opportunities for teacher leaders to influence critical issues at the state and local level

- Drove innovation in customer experience design during multi-million dollar company expansion- Named World’s Best Vineyards 2023, as the first and only Texas vineyard on the list and one of only seven wineries from the U.S- Led six departments for industry-leading Texas winery including training, culinary, facilities and grounds, and our bed-n-breakfast property- Designed and led William Chris Wine School, an in-house wine education program for staff with a 100% passing rate on WSET certification exams

- Built strategic partnerships with K12 districts across Texas to scale E3's research-proven, data-driven consulting services statewide- Designed high quality training and resources to support districts and campuses in identifying areas for continuous improvement & building aligned strategic action plans

- Managed the State of Texas’ electoral leadership pipeline from the 2,700-person LEE membership base of Teach For America alumni- Coached LEE members to assume elected leadership roles by growing their abilities to articulate a vision for change, match that to the appropriate electoral opportunity, and build the power necessary to win and lead as an elected official- Served as a trainer and facilitator for the national training team

- Managed the recruitment, development, and training of 50+ leaders to launch community groups and was responsible for cultivating new members, growing campus service teams, and overall pastoral care of our attendees and members for a church with 5 campuses and 12,000 regular attendees

- Managed business operations of the school and acted as liaison to central office leads: Chief Operating Officer, Information Technology Office, Accounting Office, Marketing Manager, Human Resources, Facilities Manager, Nutrition Manager, and Compliance Officer - After assuming duties as 9th Grade Algebra I teacher mid-year, exceeded state and local averages with 91% passing rate and 38% of students receiving Commended (with honors) score on end-of-year 9th Grade Math TAKS Test which resulted in school receiving ‘Exemplary’ status from the state, the highest such rating; projected passing rate when assuming teaching duties was only 37%

- Collaboratively developed and managed implementation of the vision for a new, college-prep public charter high school serving low-income students in East Austin- Designed and implemented a new math curriculum for use with 30 of school’s lowest-performing students, one month before the state test, that resulted in a 91.7% increase in students meeting passing standard and school receiving an Exemplary status from the state

- Developed and led execution of a new department vision focused on innovative initiatives for student motivation, goal setting, data tracking, and processes to ensure student success- Served on 9th Grade Oversight & School Reform Committee with a focus of ensuring health of students, increasing student support, boosting parental involvement, and creating programs to increase academic achievement

- Exceeded state’s new rigorous growth expectations for students under my leadership and closed the gap between the state average and our school’s average on End-of-Course Exams by 72.6%- Designed and implemented mathematics curriculum based on newly adopted state standards- Successfully lobbied district leadership to re-sequence mathematics courses in an effort to increase student achievement on End-of-Course Exams

- Equipped and empowered first-year teachers to transition from college to teaching. My leadership was rated helpful by 100% of participants compared to a region-wide average of 70.1%- Led workshops for over 50 first- and second-year teachers. 91% of participants surveyed were inspired to build a stronger culture of achievement in their classrooms following workshops, while 93% agreed it helped equip them to achieve this goal
