Main responsibilities:- Scouting for new suppliers and management of the existing suppliers base for the powerplant commodity (i.e. turboshaft engines and related systems);- Supplier selection and engagement through various types of tender (Request for Proposals, Request for Quotations, etc.), based on the trade-off between technical characteristics and cost efficiency (NRC, RC and operating costs);- Strategic sourcing for development and production programs;- Implementation of Cost Reduction strategies and management of related initiatives;- Autonomous negotiation of high-complexity contracts for the powerplant commodity, covering the entire life-cycle of the product: Design, Series Production and Product Support;- Management and overview of development activities in close collaboration with Engineering Dept and Program Management office;- Day-by-day operational procurement activities (e.g. purchase orders issuance and management).

Reporting to the Chief Project Engineer, I’m part of the Integrated Design Team of the NextGenCTR (Next Generation Civil Tiltrotor), a new aircraft to be developed within the EU-funded Programme Clean Sky 2. The maiden flight is envisaged for 2021.I’m in charge of:• Requirements Management;• Technical Plans integration;• Implementation of Systems Engineering processes;• Integrated Design Team coordination.

I’m in charge of managing autonomously research projects, coordinating and leading specialists’ team and partners as well, towards global project goals.Currently, my main responsibility is MANOEUVRES, an EU-funded project (>2 M€ budget).• All the contractual goals have been achieved, including the development of a new real-time sensor for helicopter main rotor, already tested in flight;• One patent application has been filed, after having negotiated favorable conditions with the partners;• More than 10 scientific papers have been issued.I’m also in charge of public exhibitions of the Project Zero technology demonstrator:• Managing and leading the technical team who assembles and prepares the aircraft;• Aircraft presentation to public and media.I contribute to perform the business opportunity analysis of new technologies and innovative products, contributing to Research Strategy definition and Portfolio management;Part of my time is also dedicated to scout new technologies.
