I joined this startup as the first CloudOps Engineer, contributing to its successful entry into the space and diversifying from IT. Shortly after, recognized for high performance and leadership qualities, I was promoted to Staff Engineer and assumed managerial duties. I engage directly with clients, at the Director level, to set expectations and realistic delivery goals. I lead a diverse team of engineers, providing mentorship and fostering their professional growth. I balance around 50% technical to managerial tasks, doing the heavy lifting and evaluating new technologies. I am currently running the Cloud Success team, migrating services to Kubernetes Supercells using GitHub Actions to orchestrate ArgoCD and ArgoRollouts deployments. The team also leads the modernization of the Data Engineering team, and we contribute to Edge Sharpening for SRE. Individually, I am part of the Program Increment planning team where I have successfully planned and delivered value for our Agile Team. Additionally, I have created Cloud Interface tools and methods to enhance engineering efficiency and productivity, as well as promote cross team contributions. This contract was secured by a cost optimization effort which led to recurring savings of over 1 Million Dollars in AWS expenses.

Led multiple and large teams of SRE, DataOps, and DevOps engineers, ensuring the health and efficiency of CI/CD pipelines and System Integrity. We spearheaded the modernization of their Terraform implementation and served as the gatekeeper for infrastructure changes overseeing the triage of all engineering requests. We played a key role in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the reliability of the entire infrastructure. I contributed to Quarterly Business Reviews and goal planning, as well as managing complex dependencies within several organizations to produce the most value within competing priorities.

Pioneered a new revenue stream by establishing and expanding a team in the Trust and Safety domain. I directed efforts in platform Abuse Detection and mitigation, leveraging LLM AI-assisted filters and a comprehensive suite of DataDog alerts and monitors, all managed through Terraform. We achieved measurable success in enhancing platform security and user trust with new processes and methods.

Managed an SRE team to pick up operations maintenance and propose a Cloud Migration path. Leveraging heavy use Oracle databases, we opted for an OCI approach and proposed a cost-efficient Cloud implementation which kept their database safe and secure.

Led a team of CloudOps engineers maintaining AWS Cloud infrastructure, Ubuntu security patching, backup monitoring and resource optimization. As the client evolved, I led the implementation of their Insurance infrastructure, leveraging Terraform and ArgoCD to migrate the CI/CD pipeline into immutable resources. Concurrently, I enhanced monitoring coverage and automation capabilities to swiftly detect incidents.

Managed a team of FieldOps engineers in the IoT industry, ensuring reliable device communication and configuration with a vast monitoring network and redundant alerting. I led an initiative to automate the configuration, versioning, and distribution of device settings, significantly enhancing the system robustness and reliability.

Embedded within the DevOps team, I spearheaded the standardization of Ansible deployments and configurations across multiple production stacks. My efforts impressed the client, leading to an expansion of our contract and my appointment as DevOps team lead.
