He is a true leader, problem solver, and visionary, at national and international scale. His ability to devise effective strategies and implement unique solutions is exemplary. One great example: as the director of a German supercomputing center he managed to overcome major challenges when reshaping a formal and successful cooperation with local industries (the HWW in Baden-Wuerttemberg), a unique achievement (almost a miracle) within a highly complex, bureaucratic, and political national / European ecosystem. It was always extremely pleasant for me to work with Michael, and I am looking forward to many more opportunities to work together in the near future. "
