In the last few years, we have seen an exciting immigration of many traditional businesses to online platforms. Some of those are DigiKala, Divar, BeepTunes, Zoodfood, etc. However, so far a reliable and well-designed Insurance platform in which costumers can easily compare and buy different insurance products and get their policies delivered at their home or office, was not developed. Together with two of my friends, we have founded BimeBazar to fill this gap in the market. To build up a solid solution and make a strong barrier-to-entry for the competitors, we have formed a Finance team in this startup that is responsible for designing bunch of different indices to rate Iranian Insurance Companies from different angels such as claim handling, costumer satisfaction, financial strengths and affordability, probability of default, branches and agents' quality and locations, pricing, etc. In this company, I am honored to be the early angel investor and mentor; as well as the Chairmen of the Board.

Founded in 1966, Sharif University of Technology (SUT) is a leading public university in Tehran, Iran.At its Graduate School of Management and Economics (GSME), I teach "Venture Investing" course MBA students, covering most of startups' investment-related topics such as History of VC, Valuation, SHA, ESOP, KPI, etc.

With more than 5 years experience in venture investment, Rahnema is now a direct shareholder of more than 30 leading Iranian startups; some of those are Cafe Bazaar, AvaTech, Divar, Telewebion, BeepTunes, Mamanpaz, Nimkat, Alounak, Pegah, Oddrun, Kafshduzak, Ronash, and many more. In Rahnema, we aim to build up an optimum relationship between our company vis-à-vis startups that are under our umbrella. One of the most interesting challenges that I face every day is how to increase synergy between different members of our startup ecosystem. As the Finance Director of the team, my main responsibilities include, but not limited to, the followings:-Designing and articulating win-win contracts with start-ups using different classes of preferred stocks, convertible note, dynamic contracts, etc. -Valuation of startup, using different methods and validity crosscheck tests-Verifying assumptions such as growth, conversion rate, price elasticity,…-Analysis and validation of financial projections-Forecasting financial and business targets and articulating growth indices-Designing final Shareholder Agreement contracts;-Analyzing different vertical markets and platforms within the IT industryWhat I like the most about my job in Rahnema, is that I should use my different abilities and skills such as real time problem solving, extensive and conclusive negotiations, passion for different forms of teamwork, etc at its utmost level.

My interest to Insurance industry goes back to many years ago, when I passed my first Game Theory course. Back then, I understood how beautifully and fantastically we can design new insurance products for different Iranian insutries and costumers. Therefore, I, together with Dr. Taghvaei, the Chairmen of the Board of Alborz Insurance, started to design new insurance products and proposed them to the Central Insurance of I.R. Iran to get necessary certificates to commercialize the products. So far, we have proposed "Flight Delay" and "Baggage Excessive Claim" products to the market and have several more products under development.
