I proactively engage with stakeholders to develop a vision for our iOS applications, create the roadmap for the next 3-6 months, request deliverable and epic creation, and create stories and document those stories for the iOS engineers more junior on the team. I mentor junior iOS engineers, unblock them when technical issues arise, conduct code reviews, and actively train the team. I develop Proof of Concept (POC) features to establish the feasibility of building out features to our core applications that improve the UX and productivity for our associates. These features include, the secure sharing of sessions between applications, rebuilding legacy web-wrapped applications into fully native SwiftUI versions, and more.🔹 March 2021 - PresentI routinely interact with cross-functional teams to help architect solutions that utilize our iOS technology in our financial centers. I worked with the iOS team at Bank of America supporting the customer-facing application. I left the team after 5 weeks because I had a competing offer that was a full-time opportunity at Belk. I also had 2-weeks worth of work completed in two days and had a difficult time justifying the paycheck when I wasn't actually being utilized appropriately on the team.

SUMMARYI modernized existing enterprise-facing mobile applications and created new iOS and Android applications for Family Dollar, Inc. I captured the concept, produced the design, natively developed, tested, and released apps in accordance with the Family Dollar Software Development Life Cycle (FDLC). I managed development and mentored a junior mobile developer. I also managed certificates, provisioning profiles, and provided technical consultation to other internal teams. I maintained technical documentation, troubleshooted code-related issues, conducted unit tests, UI tests, and helped make our associates more productive in their daily activities.PRIMARY LANGUAGES: I developed new applications in Swift, Kotlin, and Java, as well as modernized apps that were written in Objective-C and converted them to Swift. What I DidI worked as a military diplomatic Russian interpreter and facilitated communication between U.S. and Russian nuclear weapons inspectors on nearly 15 international nuclear weapons inspections in the Russian Federation and organized transportation, lodging, and coordinated support for Russian diplomatic teams carrying out nuclear weapons inspections on U.S. strategic weapons facilities.What I LearnedI developed the skill to effectively learn a vast amount of technical information in a short period of time, distill complex topics into easily understandable concepts, work in technical team environments where time constraints were always present and good team communication was essential. I also learned how to write technical reports in two languages, ensure quality control of documents that would eventually make their way to stakeholders, such as Senators and Congressional Representatives, and effectively train new hires to maintain a high degree of quality in the performance of their duties. I also became adept at handling sensitive information regarding multiple countries and technologies on a routine basis.

What I DidAs a Russian Linguist in the U.S. Navy, I have traveled as a U.S. Diplomat virtually all over the world in support of DoD programs and U.S. treaties. Often times, my work required being in proximity and working directly with admirals, generals, and officers from O-1 to O-9. I have also had the opportunity to work with senior defense appointees and other officials while working as an interpreter. For nearly 13 years, I maintained access to Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information and was read into numerous National Security programs. I routinely traveled internationally on official US Government business and worked in a multitude of facilities, ranging from U.S. naval vessels, U.S. & Russian military aircraft, U.S. Embassies, and National Security facilities, such as the National Security Agency (NSA).

What I DidLed the Language Services Division in Geneva, Switzerland during the negotiations of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty between the U.S. and the Russian Federation resulting in the translation of over 1,000 legal and technical document tasks, which directly resulted in the ratification of the New START Treaty in 2010 and was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from former Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton for team's accomplishments.What I LearnedI learned how to manage a small team of professional translators and interpreters in a highly complex and dynamic environment. The eyes of the White House were on us, and our work was leading up to a reelection year. I learned to serve as the buffer for my team between their work and the complex demands and politics of the senior negotiation team members and department heads. I learned how to develop and maintain an organized document tracking system for managing our shop’s technical operations, to ensure the continuity of version control of various document translations, and how to handle sensitive information in a civilian (non-military) environment.
