I was part of the senior management team at UKFI - the Chancellor's team that managed HM Treasury's investments in RBS, Lloyds, Bradford & Bingley and Northern Rock. My role included: - Conducting a major restructuring of Northern Rock to create a saleable Northern Rock plc (new retail bank) and NRAM (closed 'bad bank' mortgage book in runoff)- Reviewing the strategic options for Northern Rock plc and managing the subsequent sale to Virgin Money- Integrating Bradford & Bingley and NRAM and forming UKAR, their new parent company- Optimising the banks' performance including cost reduction and improving debt management and collections - Advising the Chancellor of Exchequer and other Government Ministers- Leading media communications, lifting of Northern Rock Government guarantee and reviewing capital and liquidity strategies and risk management
