About Joshua Ja Gallegos

I have connected waste streams with supply chains, steered urban water resource projects, consulted LEED and ISO certifications, and done the science to understand water and energy challenges to push public and private sector actors toward socially and environmentally sustainable operations in the United States, Southeast Asia, and Europe.Today, along with my colleagues at FieldFactors and Delft University of Technology, we are working to change the way cities manage rainwater by building nature-based water treatment and storage technology into the urban fabric. Our work is focused on the attenuation of pollutants using natural processes, within aesthetically integrated, functional landscape elements that create conditions for water quality improvement. Practically speaking, this means chemical free, low energy use urban artifacts that make rainwater available to large volume users in the dry season, and supplant the use of millions of liters of drinking water per year.
