Mridula Dhamija is an Occupational Therapist who completed her Bachelors of Occupational therapy in India and practiced in variety of settings ranging from hospital to outpatient and treated pediatric to geriatric population for 3 years before coming to USA in 2014. She was inspired to become an OT when she spent time at healthcare facilities in India during her adolescence and saw that an occupational therapy career with geriatric population would allow her to spend quality time with patients and truly “add life to years,” as the old adage goes. Mridula received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy in 2016 from Eastern Kentucky University. During her schooling, she was active with the Alzheimer’s Walk to Remember and program development for respite care to prevent caregiver burnout. Her goal is to bring this knowledge and research into community dementia programs. She is highly motivated and has a future goal to get her MBA in Hospital Administration. Mridula was hired as full-time occupational therapist in 2017 at Alta Vista Healthcare Center and promoted as Director of Rehab in 2019, since then she takes a pride in running a strong clinical program. Mridula is agreeable to share her knowledge with her co-workers and assists in development of clinical programs. She believes in giving back to her professional community by training students. She likes to paint, travel and spend time with family in her free time.
