Designed a protocol for using a physiologically relevant dose of TiO2 and gluten from food grade sources, digested in vitro. Fluorometric Lucifer yellow assay and Bradford assay with intestinal alkaline phosphatase assay were used to evaluate the changes in intestinal permeability and brush border membrane enzyme.
