Directed Energy • Conducted basic research for the exploitation of high intensity, femtosecond (fs) laser propagation in directed energy applications through theoretical modeling. A 10x speed enhancement was achieved relative to the previous nonlinear model.• Directed, developed and enhanced numerical models, originally in Python, for the Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation and plasma equations used in modeling the propagation of high power, femtosecond pulses in various materials developed in C++ on LINUX and Windows. Implemented efficient higher order harmonic generation models for multi-frequency interaction.Remote Sensing• Expertise employed in sensor modeling and algorithm development via physical/optical phenomenology for signal and image processing applications. Evaluating sensor systems using ZEMAX lens design software and conducting algorithm development using Matlab and C/C++ on UNIX and Windows for the mitigation of optical artifacts, target detection and tracking, and enhancing capabilities in EO/IR remote sensing systems.• Developed a 3D location algorithm with corresponding covariances in a two view geometry for real time applications for target tracking.
