HiWave was created in December 2010 as the rebirth of NXT to commercially exploit the technology developed over a number of years, and was aligned with consumersʼ quest for superior quality audio in small form factor and portable devices, and the recognised need to offer users of hand-held computing and communications platforms an enhanced user interaction through tactile response.

NXT invented technology for flat-panel loudspeakers and haptics (tactile feedback) for consumer electronics and computer applications. I restructured the business and executed a successful turnaround leading to the formation of HiWave and Redux.

Bac2 invented ElectroPhen, a low cost conductive polymer that has applications in fuel cells, batteries and plastic electronics. The IP was subsequently acquired by a US chemical company.

Audium developed ultra-low power audio amplifier chips enabling extended battery life in portable consumer electronics products, and making a new generation of wireless speakers viable. The technology was acquired by NXT.

One of the UK's first 'fabless' semiconductor companies, Oxford Semiconductor sold tens of millions of chips globally into computer and IT markets, making a major impact on mass storage for Apple computer users. The company was acquired by PLX Technology, and subsequently was acquired by Toshiba, becoming a key part of Kioxia, developing solid state hard disk controllers for the global computer industry.

Global expansion led to the formation of Oxford Semiconductor's US subsidiary, growing a commercial and tech support team in California supporting a growing customer base in Silicon Valley and across the USA.
