As Head of Grant-Making I am responsible for overseeing and further developing GiveOut's grant-making programme, as the organisation looks to provide increased and deeper support to more grant partners worldwide. As part of the Management Team I work closely with the Executive Director and Head of Operations to further enhance the organisation's grant-making infrastructure, systems and processes.

GiveOut is an award-winning UK-based charity raising funds for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) human rights activism worldwide. GiveOut pools donations they receive to provide grants to LGBTQI organisations, ensuring that they have more of the resources they need to defend our communities, tackle inequalities and campaign for lasting change. As Grant-making Officer I was responsible for implementing GiveOut's grant-making programme, managing relationships with grant partners, monitoring and evaluating partnerships and coordinating narrative and financial reporting to feed into impact reports to supporters.

My key purpose in this role is to manage the development and enhancement of quality and safeguarding systems to support decision making and improvement in data and access to data to support monitoring performance. Reporting to the Group Knowledge Manager and leading a team of business analysts, data and information specialists, and system administrators I am responsible for the creation of standardised report templates, process maps and problem solving tools, and am leading a project to capture the business requirements to enhance the organisation's incident management system.

Before the end of my contract working on the Disability Royal Commission Project, I was offered a full time, permanent position within the Quality and Safeguarding team at Scope to implement the recommendations and findings I had made to improve systems, record keeping and customer safeguarding within incident and complaints management, as well as playing a crucial logistical role in the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccination for people with a disability and support staff.

In this role I was required to conduct a major organisational review of quality and safeguarding practices to assist in preparations for the Disability Royal Commission. Reporting to a Project Manager and working alongside key stakeholders including operational and executive staff, I was responsible for analysing data, identifying and managing areas of risk and maintaining comprehensive records to ensure that customer service, safeguarding, quality and advocacy services were in a robust state and to assist the organisation in implementing the correct frameworks and governance models to see the project through to its completion.

Based at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, (ARCSHS) at La Trobe University, Rainbow Network is a peer-to-peer training and education organisation that links up workers across the LGBTI youth sector. My role was to expand this work into the sport and recreation industry, which involved leading training courses, community consultation, events and the publication of best practice resources for LGBTI inclusion in sport and recreation.

In 2018 I founded Pride Cup Australia, a non-profit organisation with a goal to foster LGBTI inclusion through rolling out pride-themed sporting events and education programs. As Founder I was responsible for creating a business plan, social impact model, fundraising strategy, governance model and communications plan. Within our first year, Pride Cup Australia raised more than $500K from a mix of government, corporate and philanthropic sources. I stepped down from the Operations of Pride Cup in late 2018 to focus on my candidacy for Federal Parliament, but have remained a Director of the oganisation since. Pride Cup is now one of Australia's largest LGBTI inclusion organisations with three full time employees, contributing regularly to peer reviewed research on inclusion in sport, generating revenue through the sale of rainbow sporting merchandise, and enjoying major sponsorship from some of Australia's leading brands including NAB and Coles. Since its founding, Pride Cup has supported over 400 sporting clubs across 15 codes to participate in a Pride Cup event, including most recently the Australian Open and the Australian Premier League.

Core responsibilities included advice on relevant legislation, creating and executing community-based campaigns, end-to-end organisation of round table and other stakeholder events, and the preparation and distribution of media releases and direct digital marketing materials.

Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre was an international non-profit organisation that brought young people together with researchers, practitioners and innovators to explore the role of technology in improving mental health and wellbeing of Australians aged 12-25. In this role, I supported the CEO and Business Development Manager to pursue new funding streams, commercialise research tools, and drive new investment for systems-wide mental health reform from both government and industry sectors. My core responsibilities included data management, event coordination and relationship building.

SEEK Learning is the education arm of the international online employment marketplace, SEEK. In this role, my primary responsibility was to devise and coordinate SEEK Learning’s social media strategy to drive brand engagement, brand understanding, positive word-of-mouth and to create leads for the business. In 2013 I received the ‘Action’ award, one of four values-based staff achievement awards handed out annually, to recognise my business proficiency.
