The outbound shipping department is responsible for reading packing slips and properly packing the merchandise according to size requirements. Once the merchandise is package; it must go through outbound shipping quality assurance (QA). This ensures that shipments are not damaged and purchase orders are being punched.

I work with a team of highly trained: mechanical, electrical and computer engineers who draw, fabricate and assemble large scale industrial x-ray inspection equipment. When a team of engineers assemble; they need a budget, a moving punch-list, milestones, (lots of coffee) and a person who is charged with recording the status of the project. Thats where I come in. One of my tasks is to document and replace spare parts on x-ray cabinet systems when parts are damaged.Another is to schedule x-ray inspection services for companies who deal with circuitry or any sensitive equipment that needs to be seen through to ensure quality.We look for loose wires, proper soldering techniques, and positioning of microprocessors. I work with a global team and we cater to a large customer base with large scale projects.

Mike Zamm has headed the Environmental Education Dept. for more than 15 years and I focused on delivery of information to broad range audiences. when it was my turn to showcase my learned skills; I gave two PowerPoint presentations. One at the High-School of Environmental studies in Midtown Manhattan and the other at Dewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx. Respectively, one presentation was on Water Quality, the other focused on Solar Power.

My summer task was to present the facilities manager with a cost benefit analysis that showed immediate and longterm cost of converting a 40,000 square foot building square from incandescent bulbs to compact fluorescent bulbs. The report inculcated long-term savings and made suggestions about multi-stage implementation.
