During my time with Tesco’s I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of departments, learning and understanding each new role as and when needed.

Support and development of Electronic Point of Sale Systems for the clients of BRM Systems. Being the main point of contact for these clients this support included onsite and remote management of till and warehouse systems throughout Northern Ireland, Ireland and Scotland and site visits to set up or reconfigure shops. Systems were all Windows based and the supported hardware ranged from receipt printers, label printers, barcode scanners, Windows CE mobile devices, routers and touch screen monitors.Software development for these systems was Visual Basic Windows Forms applications and web service. I completed various tasks throughout my time with the company including various tweaks and changes to tills and warehouse systems when requested and creating Stock Take and Stock Management applications for Windows CE mobile PDA’s and methods on a web service to work with these applications.

First line support, as part of a team of 4 to cover the help desk during the week, dealing with user requests and enquiries from the 1500+ users on the Social Security Agency’s network. This included onsite and remote support of hardware and software in the various offices in Belfast and Coleraine, setting up of Blackberry’s and connection to the Blackberry Enterprise Server.
