Michael Hickman is currently the CEO of Exactera, the global leader in technology-driven tax solutions for transfer pricing, R&D tax credits, and tax provision. He previously served as CFO of Exactera.Michael was previously the CFO of the premier global performance-marketing marketplace, Perform[cb]. A Florida native, Michael has championed the company's financial strategy and has helped increase organic profitability markedly, completed multiple acquisitions, and helped position Perform[cb] to receive numerous company awards, including Florida Trend magazines “2018 Best Florida Companies to Work For” and mThink’s “#1 CPA Network” in the world five consecutive years. (2017 - 2021). Michael was instrumental in selling Perform[cb] to Beringer Capital in April 2021.Michael is a certified public accountant with over 25 years of experience and leadership in acquisitions, dispositions, debt financing, corporate consolidations, financial planning and analysis, valuations, SEC Reporting, technical accounting, system implementation, operations management, and project management. Michael began his career in 1995 as an auditor with Deloitte in Tampa, Florida. In 2000, he joined MetLife, where he accounted for every class of investments owned by Metlife, led the implementation of a significant data warehouse, and earned a reputation for improving struggling departments. In 2006, to further his career, Michael moved on to Switch and Data, an international provider of colocation and interconnection services. At Switch and Data, Michael was responsible for SEC Reporting and instrumental in the company’s initial public offering. In 2010, after Switch and Data was acquired, Michael joined Roper Technologies, a diversified technology company that provides engineered products and solutions for global niche markets, including software information networks, medical, water, energy, and transportation. At Roper, Michael worked as the Assistant Controller, with oversight of the consolidation, reporting, and analysis of approximately 40 businesses world-wide.Michael holds his Bachelors and Masters from the University of Florida and is an avid supporter of Gator Athletics. Michael resides in Sarasota, FL with his wife and three children, where he enjoys saltwater fishing and boating.
