During my graduate scheme at the Royal Mail I was responsible for testing a new in house optimisation system for transport planning and making regular adjustments to routes. At Christmas I was tasked with organising and planning a trailer drop exchange for time critical loads in the parcel network. • Each year the Royal Mail runs an additional network at Christmas to deal with the increase in volumes of parcels. I was tasked with organising and managing an integral part of this network through trailer exchanges. The successful operation resulted in no network failures for this route throughout the Christmas period.

During my placement at Leicester City Council I was responsible for carrying out numerous environmental projects from creating a Low Carbon and Renewable Map for the city of Leicester through to planning and organising the Eco-management Audit System verification.• ISO 14001 was a key focus of the Eco-management Audit verification, for which I was specifically responsible for ensuring the Council’s environmental systems are compliant with Duty of Care Legislation and disseminating relevant legislative information to colleagues in a clear and logical way, demonstrating a strong understanding of this section of ISO 14001 requirement.
