I am a business lawyer and I have specialised in Corporate Law and Contracts. I have worked both as in-house counsel in companies as well as in law firms. I have experience in dealing with complex and multidisciplinary legal issues related to companies. I also have international experience given that I lived both in the US and in the UK and I have studied the Common Law system and the business mentality and culture in those countries.While working as in-house counsel in companies I used to be responsible for all legal affairs and I have even worked on devising a turnaround plan alongside executives and lawyers for a real estate company that went through financial distress and insolvency whereby extrajudicial recovery was employed. While working at law firms I have structured deals, including related to technology startups, corporate reorganisations, drafted and reviewed all sorts of business contracts, resolved corporate and business disputes through negotiation and mediation and devised and carried out state planning.I am also familiar with Brazilian corporate taxes and whenever I am working on a legal issue I assess the tax effects for my clients aiming at neutrality or efficiency gain.Lastly, I have been studying in my Masters the field of Law and Technology and I have developed knowledge on Internet Law, privacy and data protection, cryptocurrency, blockchain, smart contracts, technology startups set up (and, once mature, their acquisition by venture capital funds), NFTs (tokenization of businesses and assets), Big Techs' civil responsibility and fake news regulation on digital platforms vis-à-vis freedom of expression.
