Leading the network design, maintenance and planning for all plant & office locations. Completely update all data network devices, Wifi sytems and cameras throughout the plants.

Working a mid sized client office and two different data center moves to Minneapolis. The office move is about 500+ people and the data center involves about 200 plus systems to be moved by springtime. Also work to upgrade SolarWinds monitoring platforms to the latest versions on NPM, NCM, IPAM & NTA.

Hired to support the network in a hands on role only to find out it was a completely different hands off role selecting circuit options for various sites.

Part of the Network Engineering team redesigning remote sites, old and new. Connecting new Land O' Lakes (LOL) acquisitions into the LOL network. This involves site surveys of the wired & wireless networks, configuring new Cisco switch & router hardware for turn up, directing cabling activities with vendors, generating statements of work, creating IP scopes in InfoBlox, setting up Aruba access points to cover office, plant and warehouse areas. Configuring routers, mainly 2911/21 & ISR4431 units, BGP routing and MPLS circuits. All to be shipped to a location and installed by a vendor and brought on line. Technology refreshes of sites as needed, wireless additions to locations, IoT projects.

Managed and support client change control and projects in a large Global Out Sourcing Tier II/III data center in Eagan, MN. Worked Fed RAMP project installs and documentation compliance. Manage data center tasks, physical cable plant, and support Cisco switches from small 2960s, 3750s, 4507R, 6509, 7600, to include Nexus 5548/96, 2248 and 7010 platforms. Also support various model of Cisco routers, 3825/45s, 3925s and ASRs. Support WAN T1s, DS3s, MPLS, DSL, IMA and point to point. Work with TACACS and HPOV. Designed a resourceful, multi layered hardware support model for devices no longer covered by vendor supported maintenance. Managed Imation’s remote network locations covering 24 sites across the globe. Completed 6 international office moves and 5 site closures. Redesigned corporate office access layer switches from Cisco 6509s to Cisco 4506Es and implemented them. Created a network upgrade path for remote hardware. Completed a WAN router (39xx/29xx AX) & WAAS upgrade project for the remote sites. Manage Cisco & Juniper Maintenance process. Reviewed and updated standard configurations and policies using Cisco Prime. Also working with ADDM & CMDB projects for the network team.

Level 2-3 Network support of Cisco LAN & WAN, stores LAN, Distribution centers, Data centers, VoIP and DNS. Build process in support of Microsoft Lync Pilot.

Supporting client based customer solutions and networks. As network NOC lead, I supported networks across plants, data centers, distribution centers, call centers and sales offices across North America. Facilitated as the network lead in main frame migration & data center relocation projects to the business units. Represented network changes to the change control board. Focal point for DNS changes and change control for the network team.

Resolved customer issues across the Medtornic network. Resolved network outages and network slowness with the help of tools nGenius, Cacti, Opsware and others. Facilitated change controls and other work when required.

Created and designed WAN/LAN implementations for remote plant & branch sites. Redesigned G&K's use of Network Management using Solarwinds Orion. Led remote network site designs, VPN accounts, network support, Cisco Smartnet account management, leasing management of G&K's infrastructure. Network redesign of LAN IDF closets and switch platforms used in the corporate office. WAN/LAN refresh at plant sites with new Cisco switches, and rack designs to support plant needs. Built a complete set of site documents (Visio drawing, pictures, network design) to be use by technical support teams.

Provided move/add/change to a 2000+ site network that included circuit provisioning, IP address management, troubleshooting and scheduling.

Supported a number of clients hosted in the Eagan, MN datacenter. Redesigned and upgraded hosted networks, created network utlization reports using Concord. Created Change Controls for clients, Client upgrades and redesigns, on call support of all hosted networks, and Visio drawings of the networks.

Implemented a network redesign that replaced older 5000 series swiches in the IDFs with new Cisco 4507 switches. Worked scheduling cable vendor to replace cable plant within budget and on time. Replaced UPS units as needed and setup SNMP to manage them remotely. Created Visio drawings of the networks.

Worked for US Bank, Carlson Companies, and Amex running large network implementations and roll outs of each of their networks. Each involved IP addressing, Telco circuit testing, router and switch configurations, network management, and asset tracking.

Was 2nd and 3rd tier network support for statewide Internet client base of 3000+ as a tier 2 Internet Service Provider. Personally designed, ordered, installed and supported Frame-Relay, T-1, DS3 and ATM circuits on a Cisco 7507 and Juniper Systems M20 network. · Lead Network Engineer supporting 320 school districts and libraries systems in Minnesota. Created a project that led to customer data being consolidated into a single database. Trained the tech support staff on school and library issues, provided tools and training to end users. Redesigned the customer’s router configurations to a new standard.

WAMNET was a store and forward service provider servicing 34 hub sites and 2000+ client sites.; Designed and trained technical support team for the WAN. Installed and configured WAN/LAN rack systems including Cisco 7513, 7507, 4700 and 25XX/26XX routers, CSU/DSU shelves, UPS Systems, and UNIX and Raid systems, HP switches. Personally designed and installed 7 hub sites on time.Tested and supported ATM, DS3, High Speed Frame Relay services via DL 3100, and T-1 circuits throughout WAMNET's network. Selected and helped design WAMNET's Network Management System to monitor sites using HP OpenView and used Remedy trouble ticketing system.

A private network provider for Credit Card authorization systems and networks.; Configured Cisco 4700 and 7507 routers. Provided design input for network redundancy via HSRP configuration for the backbone network. Maintained network up time of greater than 99.9%.Maintained BAY Network ASN Routers using Site Manager NMS system, Telebit Netblazers and Primary Access equipment. Provided IBM/AIX RS6000 systems administration on customer servers.

WAN/LAN support for Cray Research remote locations, their clients and the Data Center. Fiber plant build out. Data center and campus LAN build out. Remote national & international office move/add/change.

Responsible for fiber optic carrier transport network, DS3's and DS1's, on-network and off-network monitoring of traffic. Routing of customer traffic via DACS and transport systems. Troubleshot customer circuit problems until resolved.
