About M Reza Najjari, Ph.D., P.Eng
In the past 10 years, I have been working on several experimental and numerical simulation (CFD, FEA) projects in the area of Fluid Mechanics, including biological flow investigations, vortex evolution in dense suspensions, turbulent pipe flows, acoustic measurements, and energy conversion. My work involves lots of technical skills, from 3D CAD design and manufacturing of components to advanced optical and non-optical imaging techniques. I am an expert in experimental and analytical research, with strong hands-on experience in data acquisition, control hardware and instrumentation, sensor calibrations, and data analysis and visualization. I am proficient in MATLAB, Fortran, Python, LabView, ANSYS: FLUENT, Structural & Thermal Modeling (FEA), AutoCAD, SolidWorks. I have significantly contributed to designing and building several flow-loops and wind-tunnels for flow measurement. I have also worked in a construction company, which helped me to develop my project management skill and boosted my experience in HVAC and buildings mechanical systems. I was the Lead Mechanical Engineer at a Construction Co. for several projects, and I had to work closely with other engineers in electrical, civil and architectural departments, which added to my experience. I have supervised and mentored 7 young undergraduate and graduate researchers, and I am passionate about mentoring junior members, teaching my skills to others and providing technical supports to my team. I am a talented, dedicated self-learner, and I have learned to play the piano by myself.
