Broadband (tmnet, streamyx)

1. Commissioned to develop a new leave application system for staff which is literally an online database web service.2. The system developed is the front-end of the leave application process using a web interface & intended for Shell IT International Staff in Malaysia only. The back-end is on the SAP system, which has a direct link to Royal Dutch Shell Group’s corporate IT infrastructure. The previous version was developed in 1996-7.3. Web development software used was Microsoft FrontPage 2000 with ASP 3.0. Utilized Collaboration Data Objects for Windows NT Server (CDONTS) & SMTP to send email from ASP. JavaScript & Visual Basic Script for complex custom coding in web pages. Used Scripting Object Model (SOM) so included Microsoft Visual InterDev’s Design Time Controls. For the database developed with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.4. Integrated system with the security smartcard system “Pegasys 2000” developed by “Johnson Systems” for user verification & collaborated with them. 5. For production, setup web server using Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.0, a SMTP E-mail server & a Microsoft SQL server. Registered the domain names, IP addresses & SMTP permissions from Messaging Team & relevant teams.6. After launch spent several weeks getting feedback from users, trouble-shooting bugs, errors & added new features as requested by other team leaders.7. Secondary project assigned by Business Solutions Hosting. Did documentation of 32 Non-GI Legacy Servers which mainly ran on old servers & NT4 for operating systems.
