Experienced public educator with ten years experience in highly diverse urban and suburban school systems in both Mississippi and Colorado. I spent the 2015-16 school year as a Learning Specialist at a predominately non-native English speaking international school where my skills have increased in the areas of ESL and International Bachelorate educational program principles and processes. My personal philosophy of education is built upon the premise that content and information acquisition should no longer be primary focus in curriculum. Instead, it is crucial that students understand the process of locating reliable content utilizing technology with the ability to conceptualize, synthesize, and collaboratively solve emerging societal problems.Fully versed and effective with implementation and assessment under Common Core State Standards from both an educator and administrative perspective. Uniquely fortunate to have experienced and engaged in rare opportunities such as the inception of a school community and the full successful process of turning around a low performing school while establishing a positive climate that fosters life-long learning. This experience coincided with my completion of the M.Ed. Educational Leadership program in 2009. I was alternately certified in mild/moderate disabilities in 2010 to add specialization to my existing administration skills. My experiences and understanding of effective and individualized education planning has earned me a reputation of always balancing practicality, legality, and proper assessment with a complete and accurate profile of the students families I serve. My future plans are to complete the dissertation requirements for my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership by 2018.
