Med)*, with more than 20 years' general civil litigation experience and more than 15 years as a mediator, I am a neutral facilitator hired by all sides of a dispute. I tenaciously pursue settlement, and provide my own perspective, while maintaining respect for the parties'​ ability to make wise decisions for themselves.2) As a Qualified Arbitrator (Q. Arb)* I provide arbitration services with an emphasis on saving parties time and cost, including - but not limited to - mediation-arbitration (med-arb). I provide mediation and arbitration services for the following types of civil disputes:•Employment law (wrongful dismissal and human rights)•Business conflicts (including family businesses, shareholder and partnership issues, commercial disputes, construction law, debt and mortgage enforcement, real estate, and commercial tenancies)•Neighbour disputes (boundary and fence issues)•Estate litigation•Insurance matters, including LTD, and construction issues•Professional negligenceI offer in-person, virtual and hybrid mediations and arbitrations. 3) As a Lawyer (Settlement Counsel)**, I represent clients on one side of a dispute. I focus exclusively on resolution through negotiation (including at mediation**), and I help to avoid or manage future conflict. As a Settlement Counsel, I take a "big picture"​ approach, emphasizing legal rights along with my clients' other interests. If the court or arbitration process proves necessary, I work with experienced litigation lawyers who focus on that part of the case while I continue to pursue a resolution at appropriate times.I currently accept legal work in the area of Employment Law for both employers and employees in non-unionized workplaces -- including employment contracts, severance packages, workplace policies, and day-to-day legal and HR issues.
