Working in the SQA department, my responsibilities are to fully test all functionality, resources; directory services (ADS-NDS) protocols, platforms, (Microsoft, Novell, UNIX, LINUX) operating systems, code and hardware for the Connex product line. Creating a test matrix for the SQA team, I was to attend all corporate meetings regarding development, design, marketing, source code as well as market strategy, and incorporate that information into test analysis for the Connex Team. As well, I was to support the Technical Marketing Team in developing our CRM for beta and production customers.

Irwin Home Equity, which has originated over 6 billion dollars in mortgages for 1999, acquired myself to create a separate platform for IHE’s accounting and financial department. Utilizing the corporate standard, I was to build a Novell 5.1 and NT/2000 infrastructure utilizing NDS, separate from the IT department, as the accounting and financial software requirements were too diverse for IT to handle. This included creation and update of a Project Plan, requirements, pricing, infrastructure design, design of a new server room from electrical to cabling, and creation of meetings with IT and all teams required. Other tasks were to help IT with they’re servers and SANS solutions.

Quintus is a B2B call center ASP provider for major Fortune 500 companies. Project included all facets of Project Management for Y2K remediation from servers, to desktop/laptops worldwide. Having only 3 months, my task was to remediate Quintus NT platform corporate-wide. From creation of project plan, assessment, research, hiring and staffing, down to tech level testing, project was a success.

Tasks included walk-through, creation of project plan, business plan, logistics, assessments, and staffing for 2100 servers and workstations for 7 campuses for 28,000 users for Y2K compliance. Was responsible for timelines, budget, engineering and technical expertise for rollout using students as technicians.

Working for Pacific Bell, Southwest Bell, Pacific Telesis, Nevada Bell and Cellular One, in all 65 sites in 7 states, for the Human Resources group, my tasks involved bringing up all client/servers to Y2K compliance. Tasks included help with creation of Business Plans, Project Plans, Inventories, and Y2K compliance standards, as well as hands-on testing and implementation.

Was one of four engineers designing the WIN95 desktop for worldwide rollout and distribution using WinInstall and SMS packages. As Team Lead for all Corporate Applications, I was assigned to rollout monthly updates, patches and anti-virus DATS and engines from beginning to end including images and CD’s of new software’s. This also included server infrastructure in a Token-Ring environment (with push/pull capabilities), policies, design, mail services, Internet, graphics, standard and non-standard applications, QC, implementation and rollout. During second phase of project I was to provide security to all of Visa campus. This included procurement, design, and installation of the internal Internet, Intranet, firewalls, routers, RAS, Anti-Virus, and all active-x issues from applications that are active-x compliant. Security updates were downloaded to users as problems arose (i.e. Microsoft Exchange had 5 patches in 2 months alone). Most of the time I had to remove any active-x code from the applications. This account is rolling out to 6600 users. Was to create all standards for VISA from engineering to certification (QC) to installation servers to final rollout, documentation and training to VISA employees.

Network Integration System’s; for PBC’s and NT desktop design, build, implementation and corporate rollout. This included designing and testing of all servers, routers, firewalls, remote access, securities, backups, e-mail and LAN Management. Working directly with the CFO, CIO, corporate managers and engineers, I created project scope, project plans, staffing levels, timetables, and strategies to migrate or incorporate all hardware and software to current corporate standards. When problems escalated I also assumed the role of “firefighter”, level 1, 2 and 3 help desk.. The migration of KLA’s corporation was for 1850 users. For a $140 million dollar “Emfisys ‘98” database project. Taking the lead as the project manager, I was to design, procure and implement all phases of this project, from server(s) and backup design (redundant), down to the desktops and all its software and hardware requirements. My design included an on-line recovery server, implementing Microsoft NT architecture for all facets of this project. The project was responsible to remove all the legacy VAX and mainframe equipment and move to client-server technology for finance, human resources, billing and most other operations using the SAP database engine and required using tools such ARIS, SAROS, Project Workbench and others. Anti-virus detection, data warehousing, “real-time backups”, LAN management and documentation (white papers) was also lab tested, procured, Q and A tested, then finally implemented into production. This system design was incorporated to handle all of Pacific Bells users when completed. (16000 users).Was one of three systems engineers designing PBNI’s internal Ethernet/Token-Ring corporate platforms. Responsibilities included design, procurement and admin of all remote communications. This includes all analog/ISDN/, ATM, frame-relay, T1-T3, and satellite lines, remote dial-in/out (Shiva), desktop faxing and paging. Modem and remote server(s) evaluation and testing. .

Tasks were to provide discovery and documentation of all NT and Novell servers and workstations and bring them up to Y2K compliance. Providian used both Novell and NT utilizing TCP/IP and XNS protocols. Also was team leader to create new NT images complete with all applications, patches and fixes for Y2K for rollout to 6000 users.
