In two short years I created a community of over 10,000 followers, hundreds of paying subscribers, and entered into multiple advertising agreements with businesses in my niche. Running a successful community focused on inclusivity and positivity involved branding, interpersonal communication skills, sales efforts to advertisers, and other soft skills—along with a good dose of technical skills to run the broadcast.

In their first season as a Pro Tour team, I covered events live and managed social media for Team Cardhoarder, a Magic: the Gathering eSports team. Over the course of the season I created an engaged Twitter audience hungry for live coverage; a YouTube community always looking for competitive advice; and a wider audience that followed the team’s efforts through their blog, helping to drive clicks and revenue to Cardhoarder’s eCommerce platform.

My weekly column for StarCityGames.com led Mondays as the most-trafficked Select content. Delivered on a tight schedule, I created content that took reader trends and changing community interests into account every week to drive traffic and sales for Star City Games.
